Geraldo Vietri (São Paulo, August 27, 1927 – São Paulo, August 1, 1996) was a Brazilian filmmaker and playwright. A controversial television personality, a pioneer, with a difficult temperament and politically conservative, Geraldo Vietri began his career on TV Tupi in 1958, when one of his screenplays, Este Mundo é dos Loucos, was approved and produced by the São Paulo broadcaster. Still in the 1950s, Vietri began producing non-daily soap operas. In Alma Cigana (1964), Vietri acted as director. Two years later, he wrote A Inimiga (1966), an adaptation of an Argentine original. As an author of soap operas, he accumulated the largest number of titles.
